Laura has a strong focus on providing patient-centred care for individuals of all ages living with a physical, developmental or intellectual disability. She has developed a strong interest in working with adolescents, and is passionate about providing them with the tools necessary to live a fulfilled and independent lifestyle as they transition into early adulthood.
Laura graduated from La Trobe university with a Master of Occupational Therapy Practice following a degree in Bachelor of Health Sciences. Whilst on clinical placement, she’s had the opportunity to work with geriatric clients in acute and community-based settings. She has also had experience with prescribing assistive equipment and completing home modifications to maximise the safety and independence of elderly clients.
Laura has clinical experience working with children from ages 3 and older with various neurodevelopmental disorders including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Intellectual Disability. Laura supports her clients by using a family-centred approach to ensure that services are individualised and the needs of the client and family are met.
