Strengths-based approach
Recognising the unique strengths and perspectives of neurodivergent children
Our team has extensive experience working with children, with a particular focus on those diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental profiles. We recognise the unique strengths and perspectives that neurodivergent children bring, and we value the significant role of early intervention and support tailored to each child's individual needs.
By embracing a strengths-based approach, our team provides essential support during developmental stages, helping neurodivergent children navigate change and build coping skills in a safe environment.
We work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to implement effective strategies that promote positive outcomes for both the child and the family, celebrating each child's journey and potential.
Comprehensive Psychological Assessments
At First Choice Allied Health, we offer a range of assessments to assist us in identifying areas where additional support may be needed, such as cognitive abilities, learning differences, attention, memory, emotional wellbeing, and neurodevelopmental profiles (e.g., Autism, ADHD).
Our assessments provide valuable insights into cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning, supporting:
Self-awareness: Deepened understanding of your unique profile.
Educational Accommodations: Inform access to learning supports.
NDIS Support: Assist with related services and access.

Cognitive Assessment (IQ; WPPSI, WISC & WAIS)

Neurodivergence
We provide assessments for neurodivergent individuals and recommend appropriate support services.
Academic Assessments for school-aged children
An academic assessment is an achievement test which provides information about your child’s ability in core areas (e.g., Reading, writing, mathematics, listening comprehension, spelling, oral language).
This information is important in the diagnosis of Specific Learning Disorder (SLD) such as dyslexia, dysgraphia.
